Gong Mei (or "Tribute Eyebrow") is a classic representative of Fujian white teas, originating from the legendary tea districts of Fuding and Zhenghe. The tea gets its name from its curved leaf shape, which resembles eyebrows, and its historical status as a tea once presented as a gift to the imperial court.
Unlike "Silver Needles," Gong Mei consists of more mature and larger leaves, which gives the brew a distinct density and depth. The production is based on the principle of minimal intervention: after harvesting, the leaves are withered in the sun and then dried naturally. This process preserves the maximum amount of nutrients and the plant's natural aroma.
The infusion has a clear, light golden color. Its aroma is light and fresh, with prominent notes of wildflowers and ripe fruits. The taste of Gong Mei is refined and mellow, with a pleasant natural sweetness and a subtle herbal aftertaste. It is an excellent tea for daily consumption, providing a gentle boost and a sense of inner freshness.
