2018 Yiwu Chen Xiang Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake (2018 Yiwu Chen Xiang Ripe Pu-erh Cake / 2018易武陈香熟饼) is an aged mature Pu-erh crafted from the 2018 spring harvest in the renowned Yiwu tea region (Mengla County, Xishuangbanna). Fermented using traditional wet-pile technique (Wo Dui) with spring material rich in buds and leaves, years of natural maturation have developed a classic aged-wood aroma and deep smoothness.
Flavor Profile and Exceptional Depth: Thanks to careful fermentation and natural aging since 2018, the liquor brews into a brilliant deep burgundy-cognac clear infusion with a warm aroma of dried prunes, aged oak, and roasted hazelnut. The palate gracefully unfolds notes of roasted chestnuts, dark cocoa, tree bark, dried dates, and a subtle velvety spice accent with the characteristic silky oily feel of Yiwu terroir. The texture is full-bodied, rich, and smooth with zero bitterness, leaving a lingering sweet finish (Hui Gan). It exhibits impressive steeping endurance, withstanding multiple infusions.
